With blue stamp of the 9th Bavarian Regiment Feldartellerie and field postmark of the 2nd Royal Bavarian Infantry Division from 11.03.1916.
The postcard shows cleanup and securing work in the destroyed streets, as well as curious onlookers behind the fence.
Explosion in Lille on 11 January 1916 - On January 11, 1916 exploded in Lille (France) an ammunition dump and destroyed several streets as well as some adjacent factories. Postcard views like this satisfied by the display of enormous destructive power of war a certain sensationalism by the audience. The German army report say´s, it was an English attack that triggered the disaster, which killed 70 people and 40 were seriously injured.
Sent by an intern, German prisoner of war in 1918 from Rotterdam to Görlitz in Silesia.
With rare French L4 camp postmark in blue and red passage postmark of inspection agency in Cologne-Deutz.
With very clean Rural postal service postmark Gräfendorf about Gemünden (Main)
Philatelistically inspired, however, an otherwise presumably non-existent, postage-fair service combination which is presumably unique and as multiple franking for sure! According to the ADA, the postage storage fee had to be paid in advance for items sent to poste restante. Local card + registered mail + postage fee 10 + 60 + 20 = 90 Pfg. With arrival stamp and posting slip. Excellent condition!
Very rare destination! With arrival stamp. Excellent condition.
